How do we make money from film?
Japan and Hong Kong are recognised as two of the largest film markets in the world. With specific focus on domestic films ROI.
Is anybody else already doing this or have a stranglehold on the market?
Wang Films is the first non Japanese company to be offered an agreement to become co-producer/ partner with the biggest distributors in Japan. This is because of our non interference approach in the filmmaking process and by trusting the Japanese to continue their success we are allowed to become a part of that success.
What are the risks involved in investing with us?
There are no guarantees in life just as there can be none in investment. However with the Japanese success and their vertically integrated approach it is the closest thing you can get to a guarantee. We deal exclusively with the distributors of film in Asia. This means that films already have approval to go ahead, the A list stars have been cast and the winners have already been picked.
Does this mean that all films that follow this formula will be a success?
The answer to this is of course 'no'. A number of things can go wrong with a production. For example a leading cast member can die and cause the production to be re-shot or to be cancelled all together. Natural disasters or political influences can also have an effect.
If films can be cancelled how can I make my ROI?
Our aim is to finance or co-produce a minimum of five films per year in Japan which means that the risk is spread across the top films. This method reduces risk significantly and effectively guarantees your return even if only one of these five films does well at the box office.
How much ROI can I make?
Using our film finance trust fund we distribute money into the projects that are most likely to make a high ROI. This ROI can be up to twice the initial investment over a period of 1 to 2 years.
How much do these films cost to make?
Some of these projects cost as little as $500,000 (US) to make and have an average return of 20 million to 40 million (US). On top of what the distributor invests into such as marketing and promotion.
How can I be sure my investment will be looked after?
Wang Films comes on board as a co-producer in these films and secures the ROI by being on the ground and helping to make the projects secure distribution internationally furthering the ROI for our investors.
